This is a working manager role and there is an expectation that time is spent on the tools when necessary. This balance of work is reviewed and agreed with the Contracts Manager on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
Technically lead the department
- Departmental technical strategy setting and implementation in line with the company strategy
- Standards of workmanship
- Customer satisfaction
Manage team members day to day for a high performing team
- Site health and safety
- Care for all people in the team

- Team development & performance management
- Communication with the team at projects, department and business level
Manage projects
- Planned work scheduling
- Project quality and delivery from initial enquiry to closure
- Client Site Visits
- Site Surveys
- Attending Pre-Start Meetings
- Running of installations and maintenance teams day to day
- Subcontractor management
- Effectively communicating RAMS to teams
- Delivering onsite training
- Site inductions
- Problem solving
- Quality control
- Effectively communicating with the client throughout the project
- Carry out snagging works where necessary
- Maintain effective communication with management to ensure smooth completion of works
- Ensure all team members are documenting works and using Greenfields systems & processes correctly
- Work on the tools on projects as needed

Business support
- As part of the Extended Management Team, support the business to define and achieve the corporate objectives
- Work with the Contracts Managers to define and achieve the department objectives
- Support other Works Managers to define and achieve their objectives
- Support other central functions such as finance, administration, maintenance and the yard to ensure smooth business operations
